Student Criteria and General Information (Please read carefully).
Application must be received by May 31st of the Reunion year

The Applicant Must:

  1. Be a descendant of a Love-Cook Family.
  2. Have already been accepted and/or attending an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
  3. Provide a copy of the Letter of Admission or an Advisor’s statement as to the present status of the student. (e.g., fully accepted, non-developmental studies, etc.)
  4. Have a high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Submit a transcript.
  5. Maintain a 3.0 GPA in college. Only a college transcript should be submitted if the applicant is in college. The transcript must show your current semester course load and cumulative grade point average.
  6. Submit a letter of recommendation from the pastor or Sunday School Superintendent along with a letter of recommendation from the school administration, counselor, or teacher.
  7. Write an essay of at least 350 words about him/herself and his/her reason for wanting to continue his/her education, and how he/she plans to use it to become a productive citizen.
  8. Exemplify a good social, moral, ethical, and Christian attitude.
  9. Believe in traditional family values.
  10. Be interviewed by the screening committee.
  11. Priority will be given to the families who participate and attend the reunion.
  12. Submit a current photograph.

A student who has received the scholarship is always eligible to receive the scholarship again if he/she remains in college and meets all the criteria.

General Instructions:

  1. The application form and supporting documents must be typed.
  2. A scanned copy of the application and all supporting documents should be submitted together.
  3. Application deadline is May 31 of reunion year.
